Another Move
Jeremy was moved to 2 North, the rehab facility at University Hospital today. He is excited to begin the rehab portion of his recovery. While I was there with him today, he showed me how he can move the legs (very little in one, a little more in the other)and he did better transfering from his bed to his wheelchair. This floor he is on is much better about "making" him do for himself than the other floors have been. He got out of bed and went to the patient dining room tonight for dinner--the first in 2 weeks, so he got to have a conversation with other patients. His new room number is N2210 (2nd floor). His new roommate was riding a motorcycle when an SUV turned in front of him--he and his girlfriend are both in the unit, and have been in the hospital since September. Tomorrow will start Jer's therapy in earnest--he has 3 sessions in the morning and 3 in the afternoon (9, 9:30 and 10:30, 1, 1:30 and 2:30). I have to guess that after that he will be really tired--at least for the first day or two. Sunday is the only day of rest on this floor--they work for the other 6 days. We are looking to transfer him one more time and that will be to the Bronx VA--one person told me it would be early next week, but someone else said in a week or two, so who knows. I guess we will just wait until we get concrete information before we make any plans. Cards can be sent to the same address, University Hospital, Attn: Jeremy Hoffman Rm. N2210, 750 E. Adams St. Syracuse, NY 13210. Love to you all. Carm

Thanks for this Blog, I read it every day. It's great that you keep everyone up to date on Jer's progress. Getting to the Patient dining room to be able to interact with others is a great step forward. He'll surely be getting a lot of exercise and therapy at Re-Hab. He'll make great progress, I just know he will !!!My Prayers are constant for his full recovery.God Bless You All and of course Zach too.
Hey Jer,
Well leave it to me I just wanted to write a quick note but being the dope that I am I have spent 20 minutes just trying to remember my password...so when all else fails call mom. She is great isnt she?
Any hoo, just wanting to tell you that we all miss you and cant wait till we can get up to see you. I was so excited to hear that you moved your legs...imagine how I felt walking in to the cheese house to see mom in tears, not knowing who she was talking to. She was so excited...I had to hold her back from running to the computer. Well just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you. Love from all of us. Keep kicking butt in the only way you know how!!! T and Austin will help you should you get tired, you know how good they are at bugging people, especially their Uncle Jer.
Love,
Chris, Randy, Taryn and Austin
Jer
I just got an E from a cousin in Texarkana Tx. She knows, you will not know her, but she wants you to know YOU all are in her prayers. A card may even make it to your door from there. You keep doing what you can to improve and we will keep asking God to help you. This cousin I mentioned is really related to Henry and Gene, but I claim her too. Bet you have a few cousins like that. some ya claim and some ya don't. Well Everyone loves to hear your GOOD news so keep it coming. Looking forward to any and every thing about you and the family. God bless and keep you. Pat and Henry Frasier :)
Hey there Jer...it was so nice to see you today. I'm glad that things are moving in the right direction for you. Always know that just because it was been forever since I seen or talked to you(till today) doesn't mean that I don't think about you everyday and pray you get better. Hope to see you soon. Keep up the good work.
