progress, progress, progress

well, good evening all! to say the least this has been an amazing week since my last post. as you remember tuesday I was trying to put pants on and I was being cleared to get into and out of bed. well wednesday morning I awoke to my therapist standing at the end of my bed saying "here's your clothes, put them on" so with a bit of struggling and a small amount of help I was able to get dressed by thursday morning it was a struggle but I did it on my own, and friday morning I was dressing with relative ease so I guess you could say that there was significant improvement! other things this week were some of the same stuff in therapy, stretching, light weight lifting etc... friday afternoon zach came by so the therapist had me wheel myself into the parking garage where we practiced transferring into and out of a car and of course it also went well, which prompted the therapist to say..."well I guess we need to think about getting you home now"
that being said, we are setting up a meeting wth mom, dad, myself and the therapist's, to discuss what it will take for me to finally leave the hospital and return home to all of you!
well thats what I can tell you for now and when I find out more I will let you know. again I want to thank all of you for your support during these past six weeks it has been more difficult than I ever thought I could undertake but you have made the all the difference!
take care,
~Jer

Jer-
Everyone is so proud of everything that you have accomplished, but I will say that no one is surprised. You have an amazing spirit, and that bit of stubborn mule doesn't hurt. We miss you a lot and can't wait for you to be back, just be sure you don't leave the hospital for good until they are done with you (well we know the nurses will never be 'done' with you) but we want you back when you've gotten every once of what they have to offer out of them- the therapists Jer, not the nurses.

Zach-
You have done an amazing job yourself and definitely stepped up when everyone needed you. And of course your delightful personality is welcome at the station whenever you have a moment to spare.

Love to the entire family,
Rhea & Jamie

You have the determination and strength to do anything you set your mind to, and the support of "FAMILY" and MANY, MANY, MANY, MANY FRIENDS.

Wow Jer I am so glad to hear of all the progress. Gram, Gramp, and I were all coming up today, but the snow scared me away. I am not much for driving in bad weather. Then at breakfast I hear that you might be coming home!! I am so glad to hear that. I can't wait to see you. The breakfast was a HUGE success. I am sure that you heard all about it from your Mom and Dad. See you soon and remember that I love you.

Jeremy how wonderful! Please just do not leave the hospital too soon; Make sure you are ready in every way to come home. Remember, those nurses will not be here to help your every move! Ahh, I suppose there will be lots of friends and relative to pick up the slack, though. You and Zach are to be commended for your strength and stamina and faith. It will be great to have you much closer so visits will be possible.
Love, Kathy

Hi Jeremy - John, Savana and I are in winter wonder land at Wilkes-Barre, PA. We are here to survey and present a bid on a new log home to apply sealers inside and out. Unfortunately we didn't expect to be here this long so I didn't bring my laptop with me which has your address in my favorites. Using the motel's business center, luckily I remembered it (go figure since I use Password Manager and my Favorites for everything), and I was able to read your good news. Probably when you get home you may tend to overdo it, so remember to take things slow, but from the sounds of your blogs, you aren't good at that, you tackle, go for the gold, with no bars held! We are going from here to NJ to look at another log home and then back to home sweet home. Love ya, Great Aunt Mary and family. PS: If you feel yourself getting a little afraid, "whistle a happy tune" (song from the King and I lyrics). Your such a young buck you probably never heard of such a song. 12/02/07

Jeremy,

Good thing you weren't at the Breakfast yesterday, or with your training in fire safety, you would have cited them for exceeding maximum capacity! The place was so packed, you couldn't see the people sitting down! Since, it was standing room only, my wife and I gave our donation and went home for breakfast. It was awesome to see so very many people there to support you!

I can see why they're thinking of discharging you. If each of the people at the breakfast prayed for you once a day, you should be just levitating off the bed!!!

It will be good to see you home.

Jer,
Congratson all the improvements but like many other people said, we are not surprised. You are and have always been a fighter and we knew you would succeed. Thats why I enjoyed fighting fire with you. We can't wait to see you at home and will be there to cheer you on. Good luck the rest of the way and we'll see you soon.

We love all of you...
